Match Report No2. Well, we all sat there waiting for the other team to arrive. Lisa came along to say
she was not playing but would shout the dolls and Tara was playing instead.
8.25pm all the teams had arrived so we got started we tossed the coin to see who
would go first..... it was us! We had made our list of who would go first, Nettie the
treasurer just wrote them down in any order and leaving the new player to the
team to last to see if we could get the same result from last week! Then came Sarah the mad left hander! She threw her first stick and ... oh my god.... she scored! She got a doll! then as she threw her third stick it just stopped dead and nearly hit herself. "Jesus!" she shouted - we all laughed. Tthen
Nettie, well she threw the sticks nearly throwing them over the back! Then came
top blobber Glenice. She picked up her sticks but she could not get the hang of
the doll being so high - she missed and walked up to pick her sticks up in disgust
as she blobbed. Next came top score Claire who had practiced before hand and got a blob! Then came Cheryl .... she picked up her sticks and went for it but blobbed as well. Tthen the newcomer.... Tara was our only hope but alas, no better than the rest of us! Well, the first leg was won by
then with us only scoring one. The oppositions first leg had their second player throw
scoring 2 and there first 1 That was it.... we had lost the first leg to Peter
Andre and his band! The second leg was looking better with Emma scoring one with her son Oscar cheering her on, so Emma was happier than her first go..... she picked up the sticks and walked over and picked her beer up! Then it was Shelley's turn and she threw her second stick, nearly missing the light, it was at this point Little Lisa shouts out "holly f**** she nearly missed the light" we all laughed including the other team.... she ended with a blob as well. Sarah picked up her sticks in her hand and never guess what she got ... yes a blob! Nettie threw next and she got a blob too, then it was Glenice and Lisa started to shout "come on you old girl you have handled bigger things than that"... we all laughed. A blob for Glenice. Top score next... Claire. She came out of her shell and scored two. Cheryl threw next, Lisa started cheering her on to score as Emma could be walking home tonight! Tthen it was Tara's go. Lisa started shouting "you need a 6 as it would be nice then we will win the leg".... dream on. Well the other team threw but when it came to thier third player they scored 5! We where out of it. They scored another 2, we lost again, so Lisa made the third leg as the beer leg! It stared of well with
Emma scoring and Shelley .... then Claire. Their star player scored again. We had lost the beer
leg..... oh well lets hope next week we will win again the A team! BRING IT
ON. Match Report No1. Well what a great start to the season, we never won but we did better than our first playing game last season.
The match was on edge to see who would go first. We were all a little nervous but little Lisa was wetting her pants! and decided
that she would go first. At this point the other team tossed the coin. Lisa just called anything and then the other team said they would go first. At this point Lisa was getting more on edge with this and tried to put the other team off. We all sat there feeling the cold, just wishing the night away. Once it came around to our turn we all cheered on little Lisa who picked up the sticks and placed them in a box and picked them up very quickly and had thrown before any one could blink! Unfortunately Lisa did not score! she was really up set ! Then the next member to stand and pick up there sticks was Glenice, the small little one who was the worst blobber last year, but who has come back for more!!! She threw the sticks wishing she would score and walked away unhappy. Then Shelley came along, all were shouting and encouraging her. Once she had thrown the sticks that was it ...we knew that we had lost. Then it was our famous left hander Sarah. She threw and was happy with her throw and then sat down. Then it was the famous red hired Nettie.... here she goes holding all the sticks in her hand and jusging by her facial expressions, she was out to win the match! but oh no... blob. Then came the top score of last year Claire. She threw and missed. Her second scored and we all jumped up with joy. Then we had Emma who was wetting her pants and on her second throw got one. Next was Cheryl - new to the team - never played the game - scored with her very first throw! The first leg was lost 13-3. Well by the time the second leg came around to us we were cold and the smokers were smoking like chimneys and the hot fatty potatoes came out! We all grabbed one and put lots of salt on them...hmmm.... good for you! Lisa picked up her sticks and placed them in the box again and before we all knew it she had thrown again..... blob! then Glenice made a come back and scored 1/2 a doll which the other team gave her.... yes first of the season.... and went back to lift her glass and let a big cheer out of her . Shelley, known as the wine drinker scored one, then Sarah threw and ended up nearly killing the other team with her left handed throw! They then moved well back but again blob was scored. Then Nettie (never scored again) threw and nearly had a doll or two. The top scorer Claire threw and she was on fire scoring 2 dolls! Emma scored one and then Cheryl missed not matching up to beginners luck. Oh well we lost that one again 13-5 Then we all agreed the third leg would be the beer leg - every one agreed. Lisa was happy about that and could not wait to pick up the sticks again and before we knew she had thrown no score! Glenice scored. Shelley... what a doll... every one on the team saying keep it up, then Sarah the left hander came back and scored 1, then nettie who scored 1 and then the top scorer Claire was red hot scoring 3 and Emma scoring 1 At this point we where hoping we would win this as we only needed 2 to win so we cheered on Cheryl to score 2. What a shame.... we lost but a good night had by all. This was a good first game, almost the best game ever, scoring 15 dolls. |
